The thesis
Modern factories are extraordinary. A five-axis mill will hold a tolerance no human could measure by hand, and a metal printer will build geometry no one could cast. The constraint is not capability.
The constraint is everything upstream of the machine: knowing what to build, drawing it, proving it will hold, choosing a process, finding a supplier who runs it, and generating the paperwork that lets the part be accepted. That work is slow, it depends on scarce expertise, and it is where weeks disappear.
GovFab compresses that upstream work into a conversation. The person who understands the problem describes it, and the platform produces a design that is analyzed, qualified, documented, and routed to a facility that can build it. The machines were always ready. Now the path to them is too.
What we hold to

Generative output is a proposal until physics and a named engineer agree with it. We would rather return fewer candidates than one that has not been analyzed against the requirement it was written for.

Every design carries its requirement, its analysis, its approvals, and its build history. Organizations that answer to auditors, regulators, and program offices should never have to reconstruct what happened.

Critical components should be producible inside the borders of the organization that depends on them. Domestic routing is the default posture, not an upgrade.

Security posture, accreditation status, and capability envelopes are documented and provided on request. We do not publish assurances we cannot substantiate under scrutiny.
Where this goes
A world where any organization can state what it needs and receive it — designed, proven, built, and documented — is a materially more resilient world. That is the company we are building toward.
